Advertising and Google AdSense
CostFAQ has applied to use Google AdSense to support the site. Advertising availability depends on Google’s approval and the settings that apply to a visitor. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to CostFAQ or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet.
When advertising services operate, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers to deliver, measure, personalize or limit advertising and prevent fraud and abuse. Personalized Advertising Choices
You can manage or opt out of Google’s personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also use cookies to serve personalized ads when enabled. You can learn about participating vendors and their opt-out choices through the Digital Advertising Alliance’s WebChoices tool. These choices apply according to the service, browser, device and participating vendor; opting out of personalization does not necessarily remove all advertising.
Consent and Browser Controls
A Google-certified European consent message is published for CostFAQ. Where applicable to advertising visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the message provides choices to consent, decline or manage options. The options shown depend on the applicable region and service configuration.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Browser cookie controls are separate from the advertising-personalization choices above. Deleting cookies or using another browser or device may require you to make some choices again. Limiting cookies may affect site features or the relevance of ads.
Technical Data and Service Providers
Our hosting, security, analytics and advertising services may process basic technical data such as browser and device type, referring pages, pages visited, approximate location derived from an IP address, timestamps and diagnostic logs. This information is used to operate the site, measure performance, secure the service and understand how content is used.
Quote Tools and Downloads
The Service Quote Calculator keeps entered comparison values in the page rather than submitting them through the calculator. A comparison CSV contains the values you entered. Downloaded quote worksheets and provider-data CSVs are files you control after downloading; these statements do not replace the general hosting, advertising and technical-data practices described above.

Optional anonymous tool counts
Tool pages offer an unchecked option to share anonymous action counts. If you choose it, the site sends only an allowed action name and a service category to CostFAQ. It does not send your quote entries, provider labels, free-text search, name, email or a visitor identifier. Your choice is kept for the current browser tab session and can be switched off at any time. Do Not Track and logged-in/internal checks are excluded.
Counts are aggregated by day and category and retained for up to 90 days. They are action totals, not unique people or proof of demand. A short-lived abuse-control key is derived from connection information and expires after one minute; the event database does not store IP addresses. Hosting and security logs may independently contain connection information as described above. Tool calculations remain in your browser unless you choose to export or print them.
